I didn't measure it, but it was over 7'. My arms tip to tip are just shy of 6' Caught in my driveway when I lived on the 777 Ranch. It was cold that morning and he/she was pretty docile. As I played with him he warmed up and then its whole attitude changed. When I set him down he chased me for about 20'

My neighbor was trying to kill this huge rat snake when I rescued it. It was quite angry so I had to use my homemade snake loop. I turned him loose in a wooded area down the road

The snake was right at 6' long. Of course I'm holding it in a way to make it look as big as possible. That's required in a snake pic, right?

Longest I have killed were 6'6" and 6'8" in northern Live Oak county back in the mid 70's. One had 19 rattles and the other 18. The 6'8" snake had just killed and eaten a half grown jackrabbit. These two on either side of the fireplace were 6'3"-6'5"(with the heads on) and both killed in 2004 in La Salle County. Last pic is two years worth of rattles off snakes killed on the same ranch. IIRC there are 97 in that pic.

I'm a little envious of this living room here.

That snake must have been kin to the big rattler I referenced in post #2. Same length and same preferred groceries!

Btw, heck of a collection of rattles and trophies in that trophy room sir!
