This one had the longest rattles I'd ever seen at the time. Wasn't very big length wise. Measured 54" but it would have probably went 5 foot if I could have measured it better. Not too bad for a West Texas snake.

That snake never did strike but a few times right after I caught him. The Prairie Rattler in the first picture was a different story. He never bit me but sure wanted to. They're pretty ill tempered.Last edited by okrattler; 05-17-2016, 10:40 PM.

If you want to keep the rattles on (if its a rattlesnake) cut the meat as close to the rattles as possible after you pull the skin down that far. Be careful when you get to the "vent" because that part is fairly easy to tear.
