The ACC and the Big 10 have some attractive features that I like. I'm not interested in PAC unless it's a Division of Central Time zone games with only one late night game a year per team.
I don't think anyone wants this. Makes no sense and I don't think it will happen.

If it does, then it is a very near sighted view and our leadership is in worse shape than I think(not that I think it's great).

My personal opinion is this is an OU/Texas battle 'off the field'.

As stated before, the conference will not get enough votes to expand. TCU won't vote because Texas helped TCU get in the conference. Also, because GP feels they will win anyways. And also because he has tried to align TCU with any and every power to be that will listen. Tech won't vote because they are 'scared' of Texas.

Oh god, now Legdog makes an appearance.

Ol Longhorn Cop pretty much nailed it. Lol.

You are no more special than anyone else just because you went to college.

Of course being an alumni gives you special status. That's why we go to college! It's called a degree! Meanwhile, I'm confident a parent paying for an education at a particular school gives that parent sports loyalty credibility in Michael's book. My brother never set foot inside a college class but put two kids through A&M. He bleeds maroon just as deeply as the guy with the ring. However, having that ring is also special and should never be diminished.

Can you still be a fan without ever stepping on campus? Of course you can! But unless you tailgate regularly like Michael, then no, you don't have the same level of cred. Being on campus matters.

Meanwhile try opening a non twist off beer bottle with your hands without your alumni ring on. The ring matters!

I have a masters degree from Texas and I'm a lifetime member of the Ex Students Association. For years after the 2005 national championship, every time Michael came over I'd just happen to have VY scoring on USC cued up on my TV. I'll always be a Texas fan but I it's been several years since I attended my last game in Austin. I'll give Michael credit for being a better fan than I am. He's got a kid on campus and a smoker going at many home games. He's also moderating a discussion on college sports. I'm just reading along.

There are many, many degrees of sports loyalty.
I'm with you until this. You can use ANY ring, plus a tailgate, plus pliers, etc

Perrin is NOT good for Texas in the long run IMO. Just another good ole boy. I'm not rooting against him, but experience is a necessity in this position for me.

Yeah Patterson's experience worked out well for us..

Hopefully Texas can find the right man for the job.

That's probably the "dumbest" comment I've ever read on this entire forum....and I should know, I've written some doozies!! But that one.....SMH.

He's the stop gap and has done a good job of getting everything back on board. He was never and didn't want to be the long term guy.

I just added two tickets to give me four together for the season. Luckily the two seats on the aisle next to me were open.

Patterson sucked! Perrin is still not the guy. I think most will agree with this. Not saying its right though!
