The names being possibly added to the Big 12 dilute the overall strength of the conference schedule. It's probably time to blow it up even if Texas has to restructure their TV channel.

Texas and OU will be the prized school of any conference seeking a member.

Curios if the SEC would extend an offer to OU and OSU. I'm not a fan of another in state TX school added to the SEC for recruiting but having the Horns in conference would be a lot of fun.

As you've illustrated before, you're a (lifelong, 2nd generation) fan of Longhorn athletics. I'm proud to be a Fightin' Texas Aggie. Nothing wrong with either, but clearly different.
For what it is worth, I 100% agree with our beloved leader on this. I truly wonder why our Former Student Association is called this but everyone else's is called and EX STUDENT ASSOCIATION.

ONCE AN AGGIE, ALWAYS AN AGGIE.

This perfectly illustrates the difference between those that cheer as a fan of a sports team and those that are vested as students or alumni of their respective schools.

I know you are a moderator here. But lord, dont act like being a former student gives you some special super sports fan status. Are parents that pay the $ for their kids to attend colleges not just as vested? Or non students that donate $ to schools? Im sure you will delete this post like the others Ive made when I poke fun at atm, get a lil thicker skin. Its all in fun. Ive got good buddies who are aggys and been in the corp. It is actually a decent school. Turnin in to texags around here.

Hopefully it doesn't cost us the thread, but I understand if it does.

You are the best at sniffing them out. Please keep your eyes to the sky about 3-6 months from now for any new aliases.

I'm right there with Chad's thoughts. I want no part of realignment with UCF, UCONN, Memphis, Cincy, etc.

I do think the AD situation at Texas will affect their future in expansion/ realignment and it may not allow Texas to be as aggressive as they need to be.

The ACC and the Big 10 have some attractive features that I like. I'm not interested in PAC unless it's a Division of Central Time zone games with only one late night game a year per team.

I'm not clear what your issue is.

Of course being an alumni gives you special status. That's why we go to college! It's called a degree! Meanwhile, I'm confident a parent paying for an education at a particular school gives that parent sports loyalty credibility in Michael's book. My brother never set foot inside a college class but put two kids through A&M. He bleeds maroon just as deeply as the guy with the ring. However, having that ring is also special and should never be diminished.

Can you still be a fan without ever stepping on campus? Of course you can! But unless you tailgate regularly like Michael, then no, you don't have the same level of cred. Being on campus matters.

Meanwhile try opening a non twist off beer bottle with your hands without your alumni ring on. The ring matters!

I have a masters degree from Texas and I'm a lifetime member of the Ex Students Association. For years after the 2005 national championship, every time Michael came over I'd just happen to have VY scoring on USC cued up on my TV. I'll always be a Texas fan but I it's been several years since I attended my last game in Austin. I'll give Michael credit for being a better fan than I am. He's got a kid on campus and a smoker going at many home games. He's also moderating a discussion on college sports. I'm just reading along.

There are many, many degrees of sports loyalty.

                                .

So is it a done deal that Perrin won't get the AD nod? I like that he has brought everybody together after the Patterson fiasco and supports Charlie.
