Although dead last in the rankings, the Big 12 may have a few surprise late 1st rounders this year.

Don't care about conferences drafts. Never have.... Never will.

Some folks never did either until "the move."

I think there will only be 3 1st rounders from the conference this year, but we will see.

I don't think the Large Big 10 media deal was discussed on here but some believe this contract could spark movement into further expansion and possibly the ACC, PAC and Big 12 eventually becoming 2 conferences.

While the vast majority of the attention from the report by John Ourand of SportsBusiness Daily on the looming deal between the Big Ten and FOX went to the gargantuan money involved, a much smaller number in the story might be even more important: six, as in the number of years in the […]

Lots of rumblings about expansion and the future. The funny thing in all of this is the LHN is could be what saves the Big 12 after all the belly aching that has been done.

Do you want the Big 12 saved as it is or be a member of the big 10?

I wouldn't mind the Big 10 as it lines up athletically and academically with Texas. My preference is to go take 6 teams from the ACC. I would take Louisville, FSU, Clemson, G Tech, NC State, and Notre Dame. The Big 12 had an opportunity several years ago to make this happen but didn't have the leadership at the time to make the move.

The question is do they now? It might turn out to be a disaster at first. IF it ever happens.

My preference is to leave it as is and garner a conference network. 'Superconferences' suck. It hurts TCU(reputation wise as far as CFP is concerned) to a point by keeping it the same as it is, but what do you do? If they expand it by a couple of teams it probably helps TCU as far as recognition, but drastically hurts them by playing an extra non conference game. And I'm not a fan of conferences getting any bigger than they are for personal, political, and moral issues.

Hopefully September gets here sooner than later............

Leadership is better IMO. I wouldn't say GREAT, but acceptable.

Last time this came up the Big 12 was going through a commissioner change. Bob Bowlsby was one of the most successful AD's in the nation. He came to the Big 12 from Stanford.

I don't see the Big 12 as an aggressor in the expansion (Big 10 will lead the charge) but they do have a lot to offer when it comes to expansion that teams looking to jump. For the record I only want to expand of its a current Power 5 school or ND or BYU. I could be talked into the service academies as well.

Let it go man. Worry about the 4 tams ahead of you in your division and the 2 getting better in the other one.

Oh and the jabs about the other conference that you were middle of the pack at best in.....weak.
I agree. A prerequisite to talking about other football teams should be making a bowl game. If you can't be one of the 80 teams, you should zip it up and worry about your own team.

Yes, on all accounts except the service academies. Air force maybe. I like Bowlsby but honestly feel that he is pretty conservative in EVERYTHING. I think if he would have been more established, then TCU or Baylor would have got in two yrs ago.

Whatever happens, happens......I doubt even Texas or OU will be able to stop it when it does. They may be able to dictate stipulations though
