    Pool Gurus! I need help!

We bought a house back in October with a pool. All winter it looks great. All chem levels were good. Now that it warmed up a little, the chlorine level is a little low, and it is cloudy (I'm guessing from oak pollen). I need to know what I need to do to get it back in shape and clear it back up.

First thing you need is a water testing kit. That will tell you the issue. Ph, clorine, etc... From there you can add chemicals.

It was a little low. Estimated 25000 gallon pool if that helps.

Generally in warmer temps my pool burns through chlorine a lot more due to evaporation rates, I've noticed cloudy doesn't change much

You need to get a good test kit, other than just the little ph and chlorine test kits sold at walmart. Spend the money. It runs a little more in depth than just a chlorine test. Just when you think you got it under control, you'll be blindsided by walking out one morning and "whaaat?!"

We only had a small above ground pool for the kids, but it would hammer you just the same. This site helped when learning that stuff. They have supplies as well. Good luck. .... http://www.lesliespool.com/blog/pool...-cloudy-water/

Look and see if you have a chlorinator that takes the 3" tablets. I'm willing to bet it's empty.

You will not like this answer but hire a pool service - algae will eat your pool up unless you maintain it perfectly - if algae does take over then you are looking at major $$ to remove. Self maintained mine for 3 years and said UNCLE -

                            Filter cleaning will do wonders.

What sort of filter do you have? DE, sand, cartridge?
