walking back to camp after dark, had a hog charge my father and i. the pig brushed against dads leg enough to knock his foot out from under him, but was able to catch himself before he fell.

walking to the stand before sun up, had one stand his ground at 15yds, he kept chomping his jaws and throwing dirt in the air. dad held our flashlights on him as i drew my bow and just before i was ready to release, i see a cow through the brush stand up 15-20yds behind the pig. i let the bow down and the pig finally took off.

i watched a big hog go into this small but thick and short brush patch about 50yds from my stand right at dark. got down about 15mins later and my exit route goes beside this patch. that hog came charging out to the edge of that brush patch, chomping his jaws, and throwing dirt in the air when i got about 15yds away. i reached for my pistol i carry in a thigh holster...except i forgot to put in on that afternoon for some absent minded reason... i backed up about 20yds and went around a bit. havent forgot the pistol since

I was charged by a wounded 150# or so hog when I was tracking it at night. Unloaded my 9mm into her and she finally dropped dead at about 10-15 feet. Scary as ****..

I got chased through a prickly pear patch for about fifty yards and jumped into a brush pile before sun up on my way to the stand. Don't know if I was being charged or if they were just running in my direction. After pulling whole cactuses off my thighs and calfs and spending hours with the tweezers, I think I should've just held my ground.

Seems to me that Tim Hicks was on a tv show years ago where a hog got him on the leg and put him up on top of his trap.

Yep. Usually you hear about them when tacking a wounded hog or when one is cornered. Any animal in those situations can and will for survial.

So I guess hag attacks do happen
Don't forget the hog was on top of the person when it was shot off her from 200 yards in the dark. And because she was taught to be a calm good shot by her dad

                  I was attacked unprovoked.
I was driving on 59 comin home from the e.tx lease after slaughtering 3 cookin hogs when I got the feeling i was being followed...nothing in the mirror... but i did think I saw eyes in the tree line off the side of the highway a couple times...
Got almost to Cleveland when a big 200lb sow charged me from the ditch.. if not for my ninja training and spider monkey agility I would have hit it.. .. it got nailed by the semi-truck behind me.
I know it was the momma of the carcasses in the back of the truck. Looked just like her.

Some of you adventurist on this thread need to take up pig catching. Im talking about little striped fellows in a thicket. Thats sure to escalate into adenaline rushes.

Not a hog but a guy wounded a Javi with his bow then tried to dispatch him with his KNIFE! Needless to say he ended up in the ER.

Yep that's the one I was talking about
And if I remember correctly it was an ear hole shot.

Ive been chased up a tree by javilenas. They actually chased me. My dog came running after I was in the tree and they had a good fight.

found her the next morning tore up pretty bad.

I was not running dogs or provoking them at all just going to feed the horse.

I was on my hands and knees tracking a hog one night in a thicket so bad it was like I was in a tunnel and came face to face with a big old sow. She blew and grunted a few times and then came at me. I shot her in the snout at about 4 feet with my 357 mag.

My ears rang for two weeks...

I thought it was the hog we were after but upon dragging it out with the tractor the only wound was from the pistol. Never did find the original hog I was tracking.

I was bluff charged several times by a big old boar on the ranch when I was in high school. I was working water gaps and my 30-30 was about 50 yards away in the Jeep. All I had was my belt knife (150T). He would grunt, blow and snap and then charge forward a few feet, then back up and do it again.

I just remember feeling relieved when he finally turned and left. That weekend I bought a sling for the 30-30, never without it after that.
