I can't remember the code, but the state has a law about not being able to release trapped/alive rabies carrying species such as skunks. At work, we shoot lots of trapped skunks in the spring and I had the question about why we didn't just release them in another area away from populations. I feel your pain though, its a bad headache

The only real advice I can give from hard learned experiences is shoot them down wind from you. And wear clothes you don't mind ruining if things don't go as planned. That stuff is so potent if it fills the air and you're downwind you're going to smell it on you. Not as bad as a full blast but still...not very pleasant. Oh and try not to step where they're laying. It'll get on your boots. I always feel paranoid about stinking when I have to deal with those things no matter how careful I am.

Find an arm and hammer soap for your laundry and mix some arm and hammer baking soda with your dawn or joy dish soap and scrub with that. I've been sprayed as well. Long time ago and it worked pretty well. I would recommend not taking a bath unless its in something thick and strong cause otherwise you'll just be sitting in the skunk/soap mixture and thats no good.

The best skunk story I have happened to a few buddies of mine. They were quail huntin and their bird dog went on point by a cluster of yucca plants so they walked up to kick a bird out. Right as they walked up that dog stuck his head in a hole and pulled a skunk out. They were yelling at the dog to drop it and obviously he was proud of his catch because he ran to them and that skunk cut loose and got both of those guys.ahahahahahahaha oh man. Those funny sumbucks. It's fun when it ain't you that gets sprayed.
