Here are two simple and cheap ways to build your own Catch poles, and your own Acetone pole.
The first is the catch pole used for various things, one is to remove of non target animals/young animals or dispatch cats without zero fur damage.
What you will need: Catch Pole
4 ft of 3/4 CPVC (hot cold plastic water line)
6 inches of 3/4 cpvc
8 ft of 1/8th steel cable with plastic sheathing
1 hose clamp
roll of black tape
Drill a hole through one end of the cpvc so you can slide the cable through and leave about 2 inches sticking out one side, slide your hose clamp down onto the area and tighten it down to hold the cable in place. Then run your cable down through the cpvc and out the other end. Drill two holes through the short piece of cpvc and route your cable through it to your desired position and tape the ends.
Acetone pole.
Acetone Pole (used for dispatching skunks without them spraying) they are worth there weight in GOLD!!!
What you will need:
6 ft of 3/4 cpvc
6 ft of 1/2 cpvc
1 1/2 cpvc "t"
10 inches of coated wire (your choice)
2 pieces of 1/4 inch all thread or something similar
one old keyring that will slide onto a 12cc syringe
12cc syringe (you can buy these at feed stores for about 1.32
Bottle of acetone.
Roll of cheap tape
Start with installing the T onto the 1/2 inch cpvc, once installed drill a small hole in it just big enough to fit the wire through, drill a matching small hole into the 3/4 cpvc piece (at this point feed your wire into the hole and tie a knot and trim of excess, then slide the 1/2 inch piece into the 3/4 piece and affix the wire to the T.
Now with a welder, or soldering iron affix the keyring or a ring that will also work to the two short pieces of all thread. You should be able to then slide it ove the 12cc syringe and tape it into place when needed.
You will also need to modify your syringe plunger by trimming off the round plastic so it will fit into the 3/4 piece of cpvc...
At this point when you are ready to dispatch a skunk all you simply need to do is CAREFULLY load your syringe with 12cc of acetone and calmly speak to the skunk and gain its confidence and slowly let the skink smell the syringe/pole and ease the needle into his lungs/heart just behind his leg and slowly inject the acetone, the animal will pass quickly if done right within seconds.
