Oh yea. Keep what you have till you wear it out. And you may never wear it out. But if you do, then make a change. With the no ethanol pre mix fuel, that saw you have may run forever. That's all I give mine to drink.

About any of them will be Ok as long as you don't put any ethanol fuel in them or store them with fuel in them. Run them until they are out of fuel before you store.

I like the sthil 180, light, way more power than you expect for its size, and did I say light.

This is the one I picked up for $60. It required a carb rebuild(most do), air cleaner, and chain sharpening. If you shop around, you can find the deals. If it's got compression and spark, then all it will need is just a couple of $5 rebuild gaskets.

I used to think Stihl was great but after getting hot and having to take it apart, clean air filter and wait for it to feel better about itself everyday, I changed my mind.

Bought the Echo from Home Depot for roughly $200, can't remember exact numbers, maybe the CS-400 and have never gone back. I'd buy Echo over Stihl any day and save hundreds while doing it. Unless I needed a Stihl 660 or something crazy which will be never.

I have yet to have any issues with my Echo. Also as mentioned somewhere above, drain the gas out of the tank and run it til it dies. Haven't had to get a carburetor repair since I've done that on any of my 2-cycle equipment.

I have an Echo chainsaw and weedeater, both are great. I have a Husky blower and I don't like it. For a budget saw, I'd get an Echo, for a more expensive saw, I'd go Stihl.

Regarding my Echo chainsaw, I had bought a Homelite chainsaw from Home Depot about a year b/f I got the Echo saw. The friggin Homelight never ran right and I didn't use it much. I had a big part of a Bradford Pear come down in my front yard during a big storm. I got the Homelite out and the POS wouldn't run. I finally had it with that piece of junk so I loaded it up and headed to Home Depot. I told the people at the customer service counter the story, how I had it for about a year and it never ran right. They him-hawed around about this and that, I finally said, let me speak with a manager. The manager comes up and I tell him the story. I also add that I buy a lot of stuff from their store and that I would appreciate it if they would help me out with the saw since it had been a piece of junk from the get go. I added that I would buy a more expensive saw if they would give me some sort of store credit for the Homelite, not expecting much but anything was better than nothing. Without hesitation, he said, if you'll buy another one, I'll give you full store credit for the Homelite. I said, heck yeah, grabbed the Echo and upgraded for another $50 or so. Home Depot really went above and beyond that day to make it right which I appreciated.
