Rub them down good with a very liberal coating of WD 40, make breaking them in MUCH easier, darkens the leather up as well.

I would avoid mink oil. It will soften new boots. It can also over soften new boots and destroy the leather. Use once at most. Google it. I like snoseal for waterproofing.

SnoSeal is good stuff

Beeswax based, it does not break down leather.

Been using it since I was a Tenderfoot Scout.

I soak mine in old spice aftershave for a few days. Not only does it make them beak in easy, but it makes them smell really nice. [emoji102]

Got a new pair of Chippewa boots for Christmas.

So I got a couple questions.

What do you do to break them in besides wearing them?
Do you put any type of waterproofing on them?
Any tricks you do to just make them last forever would be
Appreciated.

Take them back and buy a pair of Justin's. No break in needed and they are waterproof. Put some leather conditioner on them twice a year!
