I prefer the ground because I don't like the idea of falling from a tree. Tripod next, and if I hunt from a tree I prefer a ladder stand over a hang-on or climber for the same reasons. Ladder stand feels more secure to me.
Hand corn from 5-40 yards out in a straight line.
if I hunt on a feeder, it's usually within 20 yards.
A solid blind like the Krivoman with the windows and vent shut really makes a big difference in scent control vs a regular pop up blind. I have a hard time sitting still so concealment is a plus as well. It's also a better angle to get both lungs from the ground. Having said that, I still like the view better from 20 ft up in a tree.
Pretty much this.
If you are there to kill something, a ground blind will out produce.
Scent containment, freedom of movement and better shot angles.
Elevation only disperses your scent further downwind making it that much easier for a circling animal to detect you and leave. And you likely never even knew he was there.
