We went to look at the rest area afterwards and there were a couple good rafts out there, but very few mallards.
Are you hunting in the high plains area?

Picked up one green head this morning in south La. Wind and tide eliminated our first choice of blind location. Things were slow for the most part. All the birds that were flying flew right over the spot we wanted to sit. But, thats how it goes sometimes

Two of us got 8 and a woodie this morning on the river before work. Starting to be a few more around but I'm afraid this weather will shut them down again.

Nothing around Waco. Didn't think it could get any worse after last year. I was wrong.

Hopefully something changes the next few weeks.

Birds are still north and water everywhere doesn't help. I hear the migration is a moon off. Also herd of limits of mallards in Canada two weeks ago. Weather has them all kinds of messed up.

The weather just hasn't pushed many south yet. We've done decent/poor overall this year. This time of the year is typically smash time up here and it's VERY flat overall. The woods we normally hunt are too deep to hunt right now too.

Went out Saturday 5 man limit by 8:45, went back Sunday 4 birds between 3 off us.Still finding Blue wing teal, noramlly they have went south of the border by know, then this morning its 72 degrees at 5:00 a.m..Skeeters in full force. Switch to fishing the, bay is off due to all the fresh water, from all the rivers overflowing

They say God has a plan.. Not sure on this year..Is he letting the population increase possibly

My prediction is the last few weeks of the season will be pretty good and more birds than you can count come February.
