My great uncle shot himself in the leg with a 22 LR when he was around 10 or 12. In through one seam and out through the other. He never told his parents! This was pre WW-II.

not really,, it is a hydraulic effect, body is a container that is mostly fluid, put enough pressure anywhere and there will be a rupture somewhere, in this case the bullet and gases were the pressure, pushing fluid in the direction the bullet went

One of my buddies popped a cap on a muzzleloader inside his house once. It had the rod shoved down the barrel but he didn't think anything of it. Little did he know his dad had put it in the barrel to remind himself it was still loaded. Well he didn't know that. He aimed through the window on his front door. Instead of hearing a snap when he squeezed the trigger that big .50 said WHOOM! It knocked him flat, the scope cut him between the eyes and he shot a big hole through his screen door.ahahahahahahahahahaha at the time it really wasn't funny. But I find it hilarious now.

I seen an older lady do that at my chl class but she shot through her wrist and out the top of her hand. Man that was sketchy.

                OUCH.
I bet that was fun trying to clean and flush the wound. All that powder residue is in the wound from such a close shot. Bet it feels like crap

That sounds like something I would do - except it is post WWII.

Once again, accidental discharges happen - it is where the gun is pointed when it happens. I always try to remember to double check the slide after dropping the magazine. Sometimes a bullet doesn't extract and it seems to be happening more often lately.

If you handle guns long enough, you will have an AD. Make sure your firearm is always pointed in a safe direction. Treat every gun as if it were loaded, even if you just unloaded it.

Had a guy in our unit when I was in the Marines who was trying to be a COOL GUY and was explainig the difference between a PRESS CHK on a Beretta 92 and a 1911.

He pressed the slide to the rear w it towards the palm of his hand and -- BLAM....

The 9mm went straight through the middle of his hand.

4 pressure dressings later and an NJP 2 months later -
He got to go home and was out of the Marines :-(
                      He was an idiot !

                      BE CAREFUL OUT THERE...

There are NO ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGES - ONLY : NEGLIGENT DISCHARGES

Still amazes me that people clean guns loaded.

All these types of shootings could be avoided if we had stricter gun control laws.

I bet that didn't feel too good.

Doesn't this result in a chambered round?
