I guess I am still confused. Why did he put the mag in, rack it, and pull the magazine again. What was the point of that? Other than to put one in the pipe so he could add one back to the mag and put it back in.

After I clean a gun, I do use snap caps to cycle a few rounds to make sure the ejector, slide, and pin are functioning. Is this what he was doing? but with live rounds?

He dosent know what he was thinking. I think he was watching tv and just got distracted. I bet he dosent do that again.

A friend of mine, who has decades of handgun experience, shot himself in the palm of his hand with his .45acp. A year later he still doesn't have all the mobility back in his hand and only has partial feelings in his fingers.

My wife had an 8th grade student shoot himself through the foot with a .22 pistol. Kid was back at school the next day wearing the same tennis shoes with a hole through and through. Mom never took him to the doctor!

Coworkers brother did exact same thing two weeks ago. Said he racked it with oily hands and slipped trying to rack it. Still doesn't explain finger in trigger though

A buddy of mine discharged a 12ga remington 870 loaded with bird shot into his GFs leg from across a small room once... luckily only ONE pellet hit her, just barely grazing her.
