I don't think anybody is saying a landowner does not have the "right" to do whatever, whenever on his own property. If my neighbors were avid deer hunters but I was just an avid shooter I would refrain from blasting away early and late during deer season. It's just a matter common courtesy and treating others as you would like to be treated. That concept is obviously lost on many. I would figure that I have the entire rest of the year to shoot every day until the brass is knee-deep if I wanted to but without inconviencing anybody

        Guess we were.

I would never complain about neighbors doing what they want on the property they own.
And I would never expect for the neighbors to clear with me when it was OK to do whatever activities they had planned.

I shoot pistols all the time. Most of the time I have work to do during the middle of the afternoon and early morning so I end up shooting after I eat. Often I have deer watching me shoot. Don't worry about it the deer don't really care.

I have a neighbor doing that exact same thing. He never shots and then all of a sudden target practice starts every evening about 5 pm. It doesn't bother because he is just far enough away but I am sure he bothers other neighbors.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever met the neighbors you hate wtb90?

Is it possible they don't know you are hunting?

Made for some wonderful hunts. Nothing I could do, their place. Just did not make for an ideal hunt. Especially when it became a weekly occurrence.
Every week is hunter harassment, call the GW.

Here's a good idea. Maybeeeeeeeee you could move a bit further than 400 yards from
Your "annoying" neighbor. Problem solved, carry on. And if he is an avid shooter chances are deer won't be spooked by his speradic shooting.

I have met him and he does know that I'm hunting when my truck is at the gate. There are several ranch hands that work over there that probably don't know. It was probably one of them. Its not a huge deal, just not very pleasant to listen to all evening while hoping that a mature deer might pass through.

the deer around our place don't really pay any attention to gunfire; and we are on small acreage (80 ac). most of the time they don't even raise their head; guess they feel comfortable around the little sanctuary I've made for them, although it does come with a price no free lunches here.
                            but bowhunting only.

I had a neighbor like that. Used to pizz me off, but the more I dealt with it, I noticed that it didnt really affect the deer and hogs.

Or when your neighbor decides to burn limbs at prime time about 10 feet from the property line and scares all the deer off
