Buy a 4x4 small 4 door truck. Don't worry about the paint and scratches and drive it. Same price as a sxs with heat and ac!

Just spend the same on a deer lease ride as you would on the sxs.

I rode a ATV from 2000 until last year when I bought a Honda Pioneer 700 which I thoroughly enjoy. Much better ride. With a windshield and a top somewhat sheltered from the weather. The only negative is it is unlikely you will be able to haul in the back of a truck. So a trailer is required.

Used to have a Polaris 4x4 atv. Now have a Geo Tracker 4x4. Much better and has a heater and A/C and windshield wipers This little Tracker is a goat that will go anywhere and can pull a 12ft trailer.

I bought a Honda Pioneer 500. Small like a atv, can carry 2 easy, and fits in back of the truck.

I have had the same Mule 610 going on ten years. Has been great. Love being able to just throw stuff in the back of the bed. Has plenty of room in the front compartment as well. I have never owned a four wheeler though so my opinion is biased.

I have both and the utv wins hands down. Much more comfortable to drive, don't need to straddle seat, thumb for gas, uncomfortable for two, not much room for bow, packs, animals, coolers. The only reason I have the atv is were we hunt here in Colorado it is extremely rocky and steep. Its hard to keep all four wheels on the ground in a lot of places. And the atv goes over them easier and is more nimble going around and avoiding high centering on them.

Four wheeler is more fun to ride solo, but a SxS is substantially more useful.

I've got ATVs, but would like to have sxs too. Both have uses.

Honda Pioneer 500 is this exact setup, but in a SxS platform.

I can only address what I have and use, a Kawasaki 4010 4x4. It is ugly and slow but it will get you from A to B. I have a metal roof I can stand on and fill feeders. I have towed 16 foot trailers moving blinds, hauled 880 plus pounds of corn and several hunters. If you goal is work and transportation, Mule will work. If you want pretty and Metro, other brands will work.

Im in the market for a sxs. Ive had 4wlrs all my adult life, basic rigs,Honda rancher. Love it, use it, no problems. But aft my son got his 4010 mule, I've seen what I'm missing out on lol. It can do so much more. Im seriously looking at a mule pro fxt. I have to call tomorrow and seal the deal. Im fighting some "sticker shock", but wife wants it more than I do! After using both, I can say the sxs is the way to go. Especially for hunting purposes, i.e. hauling corn, multiple riders (comfortably), can easily tow trailer, move stands, have some weather protection. Just a lot you don't have w a 4wlr. Im ordering a metal roof and windshield w mine, should be good for those cold, wet days, and help when its hot by blocking the sun.

I prefer my Honda Rancher with the steep hills and roads washing out where I hunt. I can get to where I'm going way quicker. The Polaris Ranger we use around the lease is a slow go. Now for filling lots of feeders at once the Ranger gets the go ahead.

I had an Arctic Cat Prowler HDX. I traded for an Arctic Cat 650 4 wheeler and sold the Prowler. Since I sold the Prowler, I've realized how much more convenient the SxS is.
