I gave mine up about 4 months ago. I have a regret but that is that I didn't do it sooner so I could tell people, "I have the unlimited and they can't take it away".

Do you guys with unlimited data, actually look and see how much you use each month?

They no longer throttle you at 5GB. It's now 22GB.

I don't have AT&T, but do have unlimited through Verizon. Last week I looked over other plans and may finally make the switch... still not sure. We have 5 phones on our plan, but mine is the only unlimited. I often use over 20GB data per month myself, but feel like I could cut back by utilizing wifi more than I do now. I'm like most and don't want to regret doing it.

It's all about perceived value. If the customer thinks they got a good deal, they are happy and more likely to stay with that company. Given today's competitive market it would be unwise to push everybody into a plan and then screw them over somehow. The phone company gets less per month but regains it and more over the long haul. I think anyway. I rarely used over 8gb of 10gb anyway, so the 20gb I have now might as well be unlimited.

Don't give it up. The cell companies are crooks and they are the only ones that calculate the actual numbers of data. There's now way to check it to make sure it is correct. I had 1 line left on my account that had unlimited and I gave it to my daughter and paid the $700 for a new phone. I promise I will come out ahead in the long run. She can use data like no one I've ever seen! lol I have Verizon

I lost it and bought the 30 then got it doubled for the same price last year during that promotion so between me and the rest of the family we have 60 and never get close to using it..

I have 8 phones we tried the shared data and my bill tripled.

I had to move mountains to get the 5 that are on unlimited back onto it.

You're better at moving mountains than I am. I tried to get back on, no bueno as far as I could get up the chain. Gave up...

So what are the real numbers?

I have 1 phone on unlimited and paying $80 a month. It also has extra text limits... 1000 I think.

                        Could I save money?

Im just really hesitant to give up my unlimited data
                          You answered your own question.

You say you could save $65/month on the 25G plan.
You say that you have never gone over 25G before.

What exactly do you think you are giving up?

I have the unlimited plan. But it is useless after 5 GB. They throttle your speed down to .5 Mbps from 21 Mbps. Also they just notified me that in January they are raising my monthly bill. I will be switching soon.

That's not what they just told me. I've noticed the last two months my speed has dramatically been reduced after exceeding 5 GB. They explained to me that if I am using a busy cell tower that they can reduce my speed legally. I don't agree with it, unlimited should main unlimited.
