explain a duck lease to me

hope to do my first duck hunt this year and alot more next year, can anyone explain how a duck lease works, and any advice where to look

you lease a blind for thousands of dollars for 60 days

fight Mosquitos , snakes, and deer flies

watch nutria and alligators steal your floating dead ducks

sometimes deal with neighboring blinds who can't call and shoot Hail Mary shots at ducks 90 yds away

and pray for cold weather and rain to move birds

    that sums it up

Best thing you can do is find a small fice farmer and approach him for hunting rights. There are some deer leases with great duck hunting on them as well. I have been looking for the right place as well. Harder to find than a good deer lease.

I typed "thousands" as in plural

my friend wrote a $5500 check for his duck lease

flooded rice fields, 4 man blind , no boat necessary

still no big ducks right now , to hot , lots of teal

Lots of prayers that ducks come to where you are.

IMO, prime duck hunting leases are more expensive than deer hunting

another thing, not uncommon for some duck hunters to have $10,000 tied up in a quality retriever

Don't forget having to pay for water. Yes I said water. Some leases have the land and water as separate costs.
