Several years ago I had a stand about 25 ft. up a huge native pecan tree.About 20 foot up the tree branched out and there was a big flat spot where I would usually step.Opening morning of bow season I was going up my climbing sticks and had a flashlight in my mouth.As soon as my head got high enough to see into the flat spot about 20 foot up there was a good sized copperhead laying in it.I went back down and snapped off a stick and climbed back up and flipped him out of the tree.I saw him 3 other times laying in the same spot and I guess he got tired of getting flipped out of the tree because he disappeared forever.I have seen lots of copperheads but never up a tree like this one.
