100 acres planted in pine, neighbors keep it hunted for us.................lol!!! I could give a rats butt honestly about being super secretive about stuff like that as I have MUCH bigger plans. Yes, I do know many folks like that as I was the BASF herbicide rep in the forestry market for nearly 10 years in East Texas! To each his own.

Funny story about a friend of mine that owns quite a bit of land and cattle. He supplies roping calves for rodeos and he relayed this to me. Said he had gone to a city council meeting or something like that to address a tax increase. One of the councilmen said something to the point that if he had Steven's money he wouldn't worry about a little tax increase. Steven asked him what made him think he had so much money? Councilman replied well you've got all that land and cattle. Steven said "Don't you have some land and cattle? Councilman said "Yeah but just a few and I lose money on them". Steven said "Well if you are losing money on a few how much do you think I'm losing on a lot?"

You know there last name 95% of the time you can look up their landholdings online
Very easy to do
I don't see why it's offensive to ask how big a place you have if your talking about hunting or ranching or land.
If you pull up to a place and start asking questions it's a tad different but it's all public knowledge
