I've killed a few and seen a ton. But those genetics are common in the Grayson County area. We get some crazy deer.

Just how common are drop tines?

So after reading this post now I have a question......if you hunted a low fence place where there is always a chance the deer you see will end up on someone elses table or plastered across the road....would you shoot a young buck that had a drop tine or let him walk? I hadn't really thought of shooting my 3.5 year old drop tine buck until now. You guys make me nervous I may never see him again! Is it really that rare?

Here is the only droptine I've seen and somehow managed to harvest. http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...d.php?t=533415

I know of a place that has more than the average of drop tines. I have hunted a little piece of public land there for 3 years, ( Didn't make it last year ) , and haven't been lucky enough to connect but i have seen them. The local bow shop owner has several on his wall and his place is only about 5 miles from where i have been hunting so I'm hopefull.
