Just how common are drop tines?

    The way they have them some years and don't others despite getting bigger everywhere else makes me think there's more to it than simple genetics.

      20 years in the brush and have seen 2 wild deer with them..thats it.

Wet years tend to bring on the drop tines, kickers, and stickers. My target buck for this year put on double drop tines. Following him over the years my best guess on his age is 8.5. He has always been a typical eleven point and never had a drop. I may give him another year but probably not. This one is 100% native genetics as we don't do breeder deer.



        Is at 8.5 yrs old is this the best year ? Would like to see pics
        at 7.5 and 6.5 ...awesome deer ...

                      I have seen 4 or 5 deer with drops alive in my life all but one of those were in South Texas, the other one was in Leon Valley!
