Shot the only one I've ever seen in person. Low fence Sonora, TX. Had another one with a single drop on camera last year but no one ever saw him in person

There was one in my parents subdivision that was begging for me to run an arrow through it. Only reason I didn't was I didn't want it to end up on some old ladies front yard.

We see between 60 -80 different bucks a year at our place I would guess. I have seen 1 in 11 years. The biggest mistake I ve made on letting one walk. I thought he was 4.5. I had him at 25 yards for an hour. He was 21-22 wide but only a 8 point. His G3 on his right side was a 8-10 inch S shaped drop. It was the first day of bow season and back then we were a 1 buck county.

I have seen one. I took off work to hunt on my birthday morning (Dec. 19 2012). I forgot my phone and didn't have a watch it felt like it was getting late so I started getting ready to leave. Looked out the popup window one last time here came a huge 12 pt double drop buck. Looked like a buck you see at cabelas. With the long double drops that have the black ends. It came within 60 yards then turned left into the bushes so I sat and waited for what seemed like a hour or longer. Still no buck.

So I decided I had to get back to work got my stuff and got out of the popup. To the left of me he was standing about 25 yards away from me. I Slowly reached to get a arrow out of my quiver and He turned around and walked away. All I could do was watch him walk away. when I got back to my truck it was only 9:00 I thought it was at least 11:00.

That's the one and only time I have ever seen a drop tine buck.

I hunted one hard last year and blew my first shot at him. Stayed after him and killed him at a scrape a few weeks later. He is the only one I've seen.

Very rare to see droptines. I've killed one and been around several over the years but they're very rare. Mainframe 12's are too in my opinion.
This is our biggest droptine buck taken on our place so far
