I hate the post office. I ship and receive antique clocks. Every time someone ships me anything with glass in it via USPS, it arrives broken. Never, ever had that happen with FedEx which is my shipper of choice.

I went to pick up a package this morning and they have the side door for package pickup and Mail hold. I rang the doorbell and after a couple minutes, rang again. I then started getting in line and the guy at the counter said keep ringing it. It took another two rings for them to get to the door. I saw inside and there was 2 people standing 8 feet from the door. I would say I was baffled, but then I realized where I was.

I sent an regular mail envelope with a money order from Jasper, Tx. to Vermont last Tuesday and it still hasn't arrived (9 days). How long should I wait until I ask the PO about whether or not the MO was cashed? The recipient is a friend of mine and I know he wouldn't jerk me around. With all the delays, I'm getting a bit concerned if the envelope was hijacked. I still have the Money Order receipt and Post Office receipt.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Doug

USPS tracking is worth nothing, for the most part. Just go by the 'delivered by' date. It is far from being real time, have even seen it 6 days off & I have the item in my hand already! 'Delivery date' is what you should look @.

I had a hunter ship his trad archery equipment over from the Netherlands.
When I shipped it back to him he didn't hear anything from them for six months. I did some research and the USPS found the package in a warehouse in Houston. We figured it was lost forever.
About two years ago my office received a letter marked return to sender from 1983. Lost for over 30 years. I'll see if I can dig up the picture we took of it.
