It probably won't be the prettiest type of country but it makes for some good deer hunting.
So I looked at that lease yesterday and the terrain was exactly what I expected-it looked great for deer and not so much for a romantic wedding!! I did expect SOME oil activity but this thing has some areas (keep in mind it is 17,000+ acres) that are absolutely covered up in oil work. There are 3-4 areas of several hundred acres each that are a buzz of activity. That being said it is a big place and there seemed to be lots of room to get away from those things. Also with the activity came a bunch of good roads and new pipelines which, in my opinion, is a good thing. Not sure what my group will do but I have presented them with what I saw and shall see what they decide.

Sounds like a good place if the price is right. Surprisingly I've seen a lot of deer activity near the pad drilling were doing in glasscock/Reagan county. Deer kinda get used to it around here.

Thanks, it's looking good. How does that lop sided 9 look out of velvet?

Yea...Hard to escape the oil field out in that area. Surprisingly the deer get use to it. It does mess with your mind though.
My best spot is right next to a Pump Jack. I think the pumper watched me bow kill my buck last year. Lol.
Kinda weird to get out of the bow blind and talk with him as we can see my buck piled up dead in view.

It works out good for me. I park on the pad and walk down to my blind...Easy and quick getting in.

He was still in velvet last week. I'm expecting to see him hard horn when I check my camera tomorrow. Of course, I've been saying that for a few weeks now. Lol

I'm super excited to see him.

Left my lease about 4pm and had already had a little over an inch.

Just got wheat field disked about 10 minutes before it hit.

Is there a feed store in Big Lake? Can't find one online and will be needing corn this weekend.
