Its a whole lot easier to fight when everyone is organized fighting together for the same goals, right?

I suppose the NRA along with all big organizations have their problems in this day of Hi tech but who else is standing up for our 2nd amendment rights ?? I do believe that if not for the NRA our guns would have been gone a while back along with a lot of other rights we enjoy that lay in line with the 2nd amendment . I might be wrong but I still pay my dues and then some . Have a good day and I hope it gets straightened out for you !!
      ^^^THIS^^^

Just call and have it taken care of. There is NO ONE at all anywhere who fights for gun rights like the NRA. Like most organizations there are memebership issues with renewals and sign ups. I have worked a NRA booth at a few outdoor shows and that paperwork from the show gets picked up by a region rep and forwarded to the main office for entering into the system. Now...with people involved...there is a high chance that things will get messed up.
Just call and explain your issue. They might even give you a extention on your membership. Good Luck.

I don't mind giving my part to the NRA but im sick of the junk mail and mostly the phone calls. I try not to be rude to the older ladies but they call and just talk away. they don't ask if its a good time to talk and I have to wait for them to take a breath so I can tell them I cant talk. I have asked for no more phone calls that didn't help.

If the NRA wasn't a money pit. TSRA is a legit group, but the NRA feeds off of conservatives that want to be a part of something. What have they really done? They throw out chicken little crap, 'the sky is falling' to trigger paranoia, like the NRA is actually preventing Obama from doing something. Ammo is more expensive, hunting licenses are more expensive.

Those yankees from the NRA called me every day for several weeks. Even when I asked them to stop. I had a 5 year membership, one year in, they wanted me to renew. They never stopped emailing me. I had to block all their accounts. It wouldn't surprise me if Wayne LaPierre or Chris Cox didn't even own a gun.

This ^^^^^^^ IMO, you are either pulling the wagon, pushing the wagon, or you are just riding in the wagon. That's ok, in this world there are always people who benefit from others sacrifice.

I don't think you really know how it all works. You call it paranoia, they call it making you aware when your rights are being threatened. Yes they do bloat your mailbox and do call. But a call to them can stop all that. Washington works with lobbyist all over promoting certain causes. Lobbyists do not work for free. Your NRA dues do NOT go to political stuff. The money donated to the NRA-ILA is the political wing. You mentioned hunting...The second amendment is NOT about hunting, so the NRA would have nothing to do with that. Ammo is more expensive...Really? Everything goes up in price. Especially with supply and demand. You want the NRA to negotiate a better price on your lease too?
Yes...the NRA did prevent the POTUS from doing a bunch of stuff if you pay attention. One is... The feds wanted to scrap and sell all once fired military brass that usually made it way down the pipe to individuals and reloading companies. A back door method of gun control. The NRA stopped that from happening.
Ask yourself this...When the anti gunners speak, who do they attack? You? Me? or the NRA? They have considerable clout in Washington. Most likely the group with the largest influence in Washington.

Yeah, I rejoined the NRA earlier this year and no hat. Membership card and decal. I'm fine with that. I have an NRA Instructor hat which is pretty cool. I may get an RSO hat while I'm at it.

And yes, keep up with when you join because they will be calling you all the time about renewal. I had them call me three months after renewing one time trying to get me to renew again.

Tony, the NRA proudly says they protect hunters. Ammo is not up in price because of just inflation. I wouldn't expect anyone that donates money to the NRA to say that the NRA was anything less than perfect.

I would of at least expected to get something for joining.
You should call to find out if they even got your card or packet from the Gun Show. IF they didn't then maybe they could follow up with the people that took your info or you could.

I'm detecting a pattern here. Same for me as well.

I've been a life member for 15 years. I get a letter every now and then looking to upgrade me for a few dollars but no phone calls. Maybe you should become a life member.

They do more in public and behind the scenes lobbying to keep your 2nd amendment rights than any organization I know of. Why do you think the media and Washington liberals hate them so much? I will continue to support them.

Then they would proceed to send me more than $35 worth of crap in the mail, either trying to solicit more $$$, or trying to get me to renew waaaaaaaaaaay before my membership was set to expire. I was making the NRA lose money, so I opted to not be a member any more.

I"m with you. I was a member for years and just got tired of it. I asked them many times to stop sending me stuff and calling me and it never slowed down. Finally they called for the 4th time in a week asking for more money and I told them they had already burned up the money I paid in mailers and paying salaries for people to harass me. I didn't renew again.
