I got into a good argument with a lady at the store and she finally caved into me.

I have had our unlimited plan for forever. They throttled me and I was hot when I went to the store. I showed them how long I have been a customer and that we never were late, never complained, never nothing. We went back and forth and they finally caved and turned off the throttle. I ended up switching to a data plan and got all kinds of discounts. If you argue long enough, they most the time cave

Yup. And que all the people that think the new plans are junk. If you're on a plan with 10gb or higher, for the love of God please do that math and compare the prices of a 2 year contract vs Next vs Non contract.

Just got back from the AT&T store. What a cluster. We've had service with them since the bag phone days and I got the "sorry we can't honor your old plan any more" speech also. It truly sucks that they dominate the phone market and don't leave you with many choices. Now you have to pay for your new phone over time and it comes out to $800 or something. What a joke.

I've had the unlimited plan since the first iPhone came out. I've never had a problem with throttling, but I can tell you that if they won't honor my plan, I will switch to Verizon cz that is bull. I might be doin the same thing at Verizon as I would have to at AT&T. But they aren't goin to make that decision for me and they will lose my business over it. There is no way in hell I will ever finance a stupid phone. And the next program is not any cheaper than what I have now, I've done the math. It actually comes out to about $30 more a month than my unlimited plan.

And my plan now is cheaper. I wouldn't worry about it to much..

            Same here......

You realize you were paying/financing your phone in your plan anyway minus the $200 upfront?..... it just wasn't itemized like it is now. My bill was $25 less/month once the smoke cleared with financing a phone. They give you a $25 credit to offset the financing. It's a wash..

I think Obama should ban cell phones. We don't need that crap.
All we need is a pc, green screen and a place to hunt.

Arent the plans yearly or two years? I would guess its up to the company whether they renew an old plan or not at that time.

looking at all the new plans I look at from the business side looks like the new plans are really better overall. Phones seem to be getting a little more competitive all the time.

So who was this "someone" you heard it from?

This has been said for years.

You must have had some special unlimited plan because mine is about that same amount cheaper now without it.

                            Yep

People need to be checking what discounts are available to them also. Lots of reps won't tell you about all the ones out there but with ATT students get discounts and simply working for certain companies qualifies their employees for discounts also.. There are many others available also if you put in the time to find some that apply to you

My company discount alone is 10% off total bill

I came off the grandfathered plan a cpl yes ago. I went over every once in a while but now they do some roll over and it's seems to be cheaper than before. Dvd headrests helped for the boys too. They used to smoke through some data watching YouTube from Dallas to Houston.

                                I did the same thing
