Anyone else heard that ATT is going to be canceling "grandfathered" unlimited data se

I just heard from someone that ATT will no longer continue renewing contracts for those that are grandfathered in on the unlimited data plans. I can't say I am surprised but it is disappointing. Anyone else heard of this and if so when it will take effect?

My wife is on one of those plans, so I hope not.

that sucks. I left my unlimited plan and got 30 gbs of data for price of 15 gbs with rollover of any unused gbs each month.

I left the unlimited plan a while back and I have yet to go over the amount on my plan.

And my plan now is cheaper. I wouldn't worry about it to much..

I am pretty sure it is because they lost a big lawsuit because the "slow" down the data speed when you hit a certain point even though your plan is "unlimited". That is my guess...

So how are they allowed to break contract but not the customer? I have the unlimited plan.

Mine is unlimited too and I always go over 2 GB and they always slow mine down when I do.

Not breaking your current contract, just not renewing it.

I don't get throttled back until individual goes over 5GB.

I'm grandfathered in as well. I was going to upgrade my phone and the wienie at the at@t store told me that they were only offering the next plan. I said bull**** and left. I called their help desk and was told that you can still get the old plan. They are just pushing the next plan. I printed out our text conversation for when I go back to get the phone.

The grandfathered plan is junk compared to the 30gb for the price of 15gb anyway. Unlimited sounds good until it's so slow you can't do anything good with it anyway

I did the same thing. But when stay with the old plan, you lose "discounts" that drive the price to higher than the next plan. Roughly $15 a phone cheaper for the Next plan though I hate the thought of "paying out" a dang phone.

They now have a "phone plan" and a regular plan. They no longer offer free phones, they give it to you free then charge $35/mth to have it on your plan. Just as cheap to buy the plan and pay the $10/data charge. I learned this the hard way. I should have kept my old phones or just paid outright for a newer used phone.
