I hardly think so. It is a 2012 model. Now has new rear axle, belt, brakes, bearings, cv joints, and shift cable. Came new with intake valves and exhaust valves improperly adjusted.

You can bet I will not buy another one. I will not even get into what some of the new ones are already having issues with. unreal.

If you like em buy em. I won't own another one.
    Is it a 800?

There's no question that if Honda would have entered this market much earlier that they would have a greater market share. Even to this day, this is the first Honda UTV that is actually comparable to a Ranger as far as power and payload are concerned.

As for ride comfort improvements, Honda could have easily kept up with newer trends like independent front and rear suspension without sacrificing reliability. They simply chose not to.
And you point is? With this logic, Polaris sucks cause they did not come out with a side by side for almost 10 years after Kawasaki did..........

I'm negotiating a price on a 2013 crew 800 right now. If you don't mind, what are you going to ask for it? Mine is a buddy deal and he'll let me buy it for $9K. Just wondering if I'm getting as good a deal as I'm trying to convince myself that I am

Dude, I get it, you like Honda.

I never said Honda sucks. I said they were late to the UTV party. If you can't see that, then sorry, I can't help you. That has nothing to do with the reliability or quality of Honda's new Pioneer.

It's really simple. There are tons of people that purchased Polaris Rangers, Mules, Rhinos, etc, over the last 15 years that might have purchased a Honda, if, and I say if, Honda actually had a comparable product on the market. They didn't. Because of that, Honda lost some market share in the ATV/UTV segment to other brands. Why the heck do you think Honda is making the Pioneer now?

No. Mine is a 400. Lease mgr has an 800 with even more issues.
He is in his mid 60's. I can assure you he does more putting around than driving.

I can agree with this. And btw, I am a fan of Kawasaki Mules. I am just looking at the Hondas now because to the 500, which is a newer concept to the SxS (minus Yamaha, which I wouldn't have considered anyway after owning one of their 4 wheelers). Basically a SxS Honda Foreman, which is know for quality and reliability. If it weren't for this, I would be looking only at the Mules.

I think the law suits in the 80's really made Honda conservative. They was leading the way back then in racing.

They did have the Odysy back in the mid 80's

I was also told (and would like to confirm, but have to do so yet) that the 500 is the exact same setup as the Fourtrax Foreman 500 ATV, and that has a definite track record for quality and dependability.
I think you are correct on the foreman, and all 3 of the Honda tranny are different but the same concept. The 1000 will have more moving parts than the other 2, but my point was they have a very good track record on there tranny's. I still think there are too many people concerned weather it is a belt of geared, they all work really well.

(Among other items I suspect ).

The quality control was a question when they made the move.

My 2009 has been well used and has had some wear items replaced, but nothing too drastic... Except for the fuel pump.
Mine=Made in Mexico. Cute little sticker right on the frame says so.

Depending on hours that is a good deal.

I'm a Ranger owner and very happy with the 1st one and so far very happy with the new one.

I am sure the Honda is going to be a solid machine, Honda is known for quality, but that thing is Gawd Awful looking. I just couldn't bring myself to buying that.

This will factor into my current SXS replacement when the time comes.
                          (No time soon I hope.)

Just like with automobiles, I'll buy a foreign one made HERE before a domestic one made there.

Btw, while we are on where they are made, the new mule pro 3 cylinder engine is rumored to be made in China.

Not a deal killer, just something to consider.

Yes they are, also the same engine JD Gator uses in the 825I sxs they have.

Just turned 300 miles on my Mule Pro FXT. Absolutely the best SXS since sliced bread. Great ride, plenty of power and quiet. That trans bed is the ****.

I have a '12 Ranger Xp800 and love it. However, for work around the ranch I really enjoy our 2014 Kubota Crew. Cant remember the number. Its the diesel with second bench seat and extendable bed. It doesnt have the greatest ground clearance. But it is an awesome machine.
