Well the fact is he has a Ranger and I can promise you he maintains his above and beyond what the normal person does at certified polaris mechanic shops and he hunts east texas piney woods where they is little mud to abuse it and it stays in the shop constantly. Apparently that doesnt fit your agenda though and the only way to have issues with them is to abuse them.
I have a friend with a 2014 Ranger 900 ( same as mine). We were gripping about the Polaris winch cable being too short. He toke his back to the dealer and they warrantied the whole winch......put on a new one with a rope n/c. I will soon try the same deal.

Nice! I like those synthetic cables a lot. Could tell you how many times I've cut my hands on the steel ones. Not to mention the injuries I've seen from a steel one coming apart and hitting people.
I was looking at the Honda Pioneer, anyone seen these ?
I bought a new Pioneer 700 P2 last year. Good ride. Much better than my straight axle ATV. Has an automotive automatic transmission. Our lease is west of Barksdale and is all rocks and hills. When I bought mine there was a waiting list so I ended up buying mine in Mississippi. I think they are a little more available now.

this is where i had to go also. Got mine in Natchez, Ms but no one in the country can touch Brookhaven, Ms prices on the Hondas.
They're for sure impressive. Just about the same exact machine except for the payload capacity is 500lbs more with the Ranger.

You might want to check into what the Ranger shows for payload capacity. It's 1,500lbs. for the 2016 models. Towing is identical at 2,000lbs.

You are correct about the Payload, but Honda and Polaris are comparing apples to oranges. The Polaris Bed capacity is the same as Hondas at 1K. This is the Ranger...

I see. I stand corrected then! I guess I skipped right over Box capacity there.

The Crew has the same as well and But 1750 pound Payload for the 900-6 Crew. That is new to me as well. I know a lot of good Rangers out there and I hear a lot of bad stories as well. I still believe most of it is how well you maintain them, and there is always that chance whatever you get could be a lemmon, just like Ford, Chevy, ect.....
I just like the Honda because it is a Short WB 4 or 5 Passenger sxs, the Ranger Crew was just too long for me. I was hestant about the 700 because it did not have a low range gear. The 1000 clears that up.
