Broad head for low poundage bow

My 7 year is pulling little over 30lbs on his Hoyt Ignite. He's really been practicing and is shooting good at 15 yards. This weekend we're going Ram hunting at Thompsons and if we can get one under 15 yards might let him try. I've got some 100 grain Swhackers, 100 grain Rage and 100 grain fixed Muzzys. Would one these be better for low poundage or something else?

Go with a fixed head. Expandables require more KE to open properly, but your 30lb may have issues either way.

Any cut on contact head will do the trick with a well placed shot

I gotta echo the magnus stingers as well. Fly really well and are long and charp.

Best of luck to the both of you.

Was concerned about 30lbs too but 100 grain field tips are burying 4-5" deep in my 3d target and it's pretty hard. Thinking good broad head and no bone will be ok on Ram.

I'm gonna be shooting either Slick Tricks or DRTs this weekend for mine. Cant go wrong with any fixed blade but I think a cut on contact will be best for him like a muzzy phantom or magnus stinger!

                      Another vote for Magnus Stingers.

Hard to beat a stinger buzz cut or razor trick

Magnus Stingers would be a good choice with that set-up.

I shot the G5 montecs for years on a 40 lb draw and killed dozens of animals, stay out of the bone and your good!

I would say the muzzys would be the best bet

If you want him to have a better chance to succeed, get some cut on contact 2 blade broadheads like muzzy pahntoms, or magnus stingers. Then get them scary sharp and let your son do the rest!

                              Best of luck to y'all!
