Appreciate all the ideas, I will check into them. Well, maybe not Chew's suggestion, but it could make 10 years with me seem better. Kemah was one of our first dates but it just sounds like a tourist trap now, we haven't been in years.

Sambuca in downtown has great jazz. Also if you become a member at the Houston museum of natural science. You can do the mixers & elixirs on a Friday evening. Then stay at hotel ZAZZA

Go see A Live One (Phish Tribute Band) at Cottonwood in the GOOF and promise to take her to the real deal later in July when Phish hits Austin and Dallas.

I never ate there. Just drinks and jazz. What a shame the food looked good

Go down to discovery green and have dinner at The Grove. After that, walk around the park, they usually have little things to do around there. Dinner will def not be more than $200.
Other than that, downtown is always a cool place to be that not a lot of people venture too unless you're young and going out and by that I mean downtown downtown not Midtown or Montrose.

If you want something unique around Houston, then the 18th St Pier in San Leon will take the cake. They have some very entertaining events, I.e, miggit wrestling on occasion. They also have live music often. We prefer T-Bone Tom's in Kemah for a fair priced, laid back meal.

This is totally legit. You can eat in the "grille" then get some bait shrimp and fish off the pier...all the while watching some of San Leon's finest motorcycle enthusiasts put on a display of elegance and class that can be found nowhere else.
