There are more old drunks than old doctors per Willie Nelson I a probably drink about a 1/2 gallon every week and a half. Beer too. Walk 5 miles a day, doc says I am in pretty much in good shape except for my type 2 diabetes which have meds for. I was born in 54 so enjoy my friend.

I don't drink much anymore but I think that's a lot buddy. To me, more than 2-3 a day is over board. I have like 5 beers a year. I stopped because I watched my sisters dad die from sorosis and I was getting into to much trouble.

I don't think I could do it and get up for work the next day. Last time I drank whiskey I remember tipping back a bottle of 80 proof. I remember looking up at the stars right before I passed out but anything in between that last drink and passing out in my buddies front yard......not so much. I heard we had a good time at that party though. Woke up in my own house the next day and had no idea who's house it was, soaked in urine because obviously the whiskey wanted out some time during the night and fell flat on my face stepping out of bed. Haven't drank whiskey since.lol if it doesn't affect your job or relationship with your family I guess go for it. Some folks can do it and some can't.

What I would do to have my brother back I lost last year at only 34 years old from Pancreatis from hard liquor over a number of years!!! He drank off and on hard for quite a few years...may go a while with nothing but when he drank it was real heavy! Bottom line is your body can't take it and isn't made for taking that kind of abuse.....the same way an engine runs when you put bad gas in it!

My brother was scared to death of doctors and I truly don't think he knew what was happening or how serious it was...but I know his last days were very miserable and painful after his pancreas ruptured and basically poisoned him!

If you have kids please slow down for them, if not for the kids do it for your wife, if not for kids and wife do it for yourself and your friends and family that love you!! The same way that you would feel if you lost your wife or family is the same way your wife and family will feel if they lose you!

9 oz a day. Roughly equivalent to a 6 pack of beer a day. I can't drink that much with that regularity but I sure know plenty of folks who do. My dad drank at least a 6 pack a night. My father in law would drink 2+ handles a week. It might kill you but so might being in the sun on the boat every day. It is really a personal choice.

Half gallon is equal to 9 drinks daily. You be the judge...................

I read where moderate drinkers live longer and healthier lives than non drinking teetotalers. Wasn't the alcohol intake, but their life style choices making the right decisions, and their ability to handle and relieve stress. Moderate was defined as two or three drinks/beers a few nights a week. Heavy drinkers were at the bottom of the list.

My annual alcohol intake is roughly two cases of beer, and two 1.75L's of scotch. Most is consumed a couple three drinks a night. The rest causes a couple hangovers a year that remind me not to drink so much.

No matter how you look at it, this much can have a serious impact on your longterm health.

For the whole weeks that's not much. It's a mixed drink a day. If it were daily it might be different. For the whole week that's way less than most guys who drink beer. Carry on.
