IMO keep on doing what makes you happy. It's all in perspective.
People smoke, people drink, people force feed themselves some of the craziest preservative filled foods...
Everything indulgent is bad for you.
Life is short and everyone dies in the end.
      Very true.

I started questioning myself not long ago. I average a 2-3 OZ a weekday, or about one two finger pour a night. When I stopped dipping, three years ago, I started pouring a straight something, and sip it till bedtime. Last night it was probably less than an 1 oz and often pour part of it out the next morning , but it is consistent. Oddly, most weekends I don't drink at all. So to answer your question, your rate probably would be too much for me.

Not to hijack but would you define a "do gooder".? I don't see anybody looking down their noses at the op, or anyone else for that matter. He asked an opinion and got them, from people who drink socially, and from people who had a terrible problem with it(myself). So if you define it as doing what's good for oneself, then color me guilty. Not trying to be confrontational, just wanted to give you a perspective from the "do gooder" side. And trust me, after drinking caused me to lose a lot, money and otherwise, I am the last person in the world to judge.

I use to drink 4-6 beers a night during the week and it didn't affect my family or work I was still up at 4:30 every morning and 45 min early to work.. When I stopping drinking those week night beers I was shocked at how much easier it was to get up in the morning even if I didn't go to bed early.. And how much later I found my self staying up.. I still drink a couple of occasional beers during a week night but not much anymore and I'm only 28..

The wife and I and a good buddy that comes over about 4 nights a week go thru about 1 bottle in 4 evenings and he and I go thru another bottle at the ranch on the weekends. So I drink about the same as you or a little more. So What ever makes you happy. Jack Daniels is Delicious. Now I want a Cocktail but I'll wait till 4

I posed the question on a group text with a few good friends that are long time TBHers..........

It has been determined that we are all a buncha drunk alcoholics.

I don't see an issue with it. Most folks I know drink at least that a week, if not more.

Ok, which is better or worse? No offense meant to anyone.

Guy A) does not drink. He smokes or dips. He does not exercise and eats fatty greasy foods and is very overweight.

Guy B) Eats healthy, exercises regularly, is the perfect weight and has a few drinks after exercise equaling a handle per week. He does not smoke or dip.
