Leaving the front gate open or closed?

We have an automatic gate so I just drive up and punch in the code and it does all the work for me. Probably one of my favorite parts about the ranch aside from the deer hunting lol. There has been times the gate wasn't working so we had to open and close manually but always keep it closed as there are cattle on the ranch we don't want getting out either

If I'm there it's open. Camp house is 100 yds from the gate and it's an open field. Land owners do the same.

Closed. Locked with chain and lock every time someone goes in or out of any gate on the ranch.

I leave a gate how I find it. Ours is usually closed.

Like we find it. If the cows are there close it. If the cows are off, open.

Always closed. Leaving it open when you're there will let local theives pattern you.
