I never said they didnt work but what's the point? Damaged is damaged. If you need to sign a waiver to get a discount then your insurance company won't pay for hail damage because you have IR Shingles. Cosmetic damage is not covered and you are stuck with a roof the is cosmetically damaged and therefore not covered. Buddy!

Atfulldraw, friend I've replaced plenty of metal roofs with structural integrity damage. I have yet to sale a couple of panels to repair a roof with structural integrity damage.
I'm not saying you are wrong, I am just saying I have never experienced it.

Who does that? I have never sold just a few panels to repair a residential roof.

I sale steel not just roofs. My customers come to me. I don't go to them. I sale them what they want.

Try replacing a few panels on a concealed fastener roof or a standing seam. I would pay money to watch you and your "2 engineers" do that.

It can be done, but there are not many who can do it properly. As you said it is difficult, so it is not common practice.

We've been hit plenty at my office and over time you can't tell. Metal roofing is the roof that rarely needs replacing. No composition roofing can compare. I can tell you that most of the metal roofs in that night mare storm in the Stephenville area will probably need replacing, but because of the strength of the metal roof there was most likely no structural damage to the decking.

So Atfulldraw a metal roof is always the way to go.

It is hail/fire/wind resistant. It helps with your utilities if installed correctly and some jack wagon doesn't put it on over shingles.

Doesn't work like that. You can't just replace a few panels like you replace a few shingles. They have to replace the whole roof.

You do know you are arguing with the freaking adjusters of all adjusters right? This guy is the guy that shows up when the lawyers are called to the scene. The guy that handles more claims than probably any other adjuster in Texas. And as a roofing and construction company owner with more knowledge than most, I don't argue with him either....except when it comes to deer hunting. I got him beat in that department! Sorry bro, can't just toot your horn all the time...lol

But that being said, I see adjusters buying stuff all the time I don't think they should have bought!
