    Impact Resistant Shingles

IR shingles are a great way to help protect your home from normal hail storms. Won't stop baseball or larger.....but nothing out there will!

One huge benefit of IR shingles is that they give you about a 20% discount on your insurance premiums! They are about $30 per sq more than your regular laminate shingle so they are not cheap. Even though they are more expensive, they pay for themselves in about 2 to 3 years with the insurance discount you receive!

I have made a great purchase on some IR shingles in bulk and would be willing to pass those savings onto my TBH brothers. This means I can upgrade your roof at the same cost as a 30 year laminate shingle. I only have so many, so if you have made a claim on your roof and need it replaced, shoot me a PM with phone number and location.

I always charge for the upgrade....but I'm just trying to give back to such a great group of people during these times of need after all these horrific storms!

Also, let me know if any help is needed for temporary tarping to keep from further damaging their home. I do this at no cost to you whatsoever. I hate to see someone receive even more damage to their home because they are unable to properly tarp/repair their roof after storm damage. Mutiple TBH'rs work with me. So it's a great way to meet another TBHr willing to help as well!!!
Prayers for all involved and God bless,
    Russell

Bump to the top. :-) Me too; however, I am going with 22 gauge standing seam. Hope it is IR. Tired of dealing with a re-roof every five years or so.

                  Specs?

                  Russ,

I'm not affected by recent storms and wouldn't want to take product from those in need. However, I have been considering replacing my roof soon.

Can you supply info on the shingles?

                  Manufacturer
                  Warranty length
                  UL IR class
                  Styles/Colors available?

Also, assume you're working with a roofing company? Can you supply sign off for homeowners insurance discount?

I'm in your neck of the woods (sorta) over in Arlington.

Any info you can provide is appreciated.

I appreciate it but I'm already mid stream in the process.

                    Bump for you.

                        VanX,

Here's some information. I am working on another bulk order as well. Will let everyone know if I succeed at getting that deal too. They are NOT factory seconds. Full warranty applies on all my shingles.

                        Manufacturer- certainteed landmark IR
                        Warranty length- lifetime
                        UL IR-class 4
Styles/Colors available?- cumberland and resawn shake

I own the company so I can take care of all the paperwork for you to get the insurance discount. Feel free to send me a PM. there might be some left. Not sure yet as my guys have customers that need them too.

I'm in the process. The roofing company is waiting for me to sign the contract.
I was wondering if there was a better shingle than what they are offering me. 30 yr GAF
Then I just saw this thread. So is it worth it to spend the extra money versus the 30 yr?
Does GAF make IR shingles. That is the brand they use.

Anything we should ask the company before signing?

This whole process has been really confusing.
                          Thanks for the information.

Ask if they are GAF certified or master elite. Don't use 3-tab for starter or hip/ridge!

Question for you. When you get the 20% discount from the insurance company and you sign the hail exclusion on your homeowners policy who replaces the roof if they get hail damage? I remember when I was selling insurance back in the early 2000's one of my customers got them installed on his roof after a hail storm. Two months later we had a major hail storm and he got nailed again. He called us and we denied the claim because he had the IR shingles. The shingles had hail damage, but the hail didn't break the shingles. The manufacture said it was just cosmetic damage and they wouldn't replace them. I think the correct wording he used was the shingle was dinged not creased. Is it still the same way or will they replace cosmetic damage to the shingle.
