If for some reason you do not want to put posion in the room I did this once in a smaller room and had good results.

Put a shallow cookie pan full of water in the room. Turn off all the lights. Put a light near the pan and they will be attracted to the light and jump in the water.

It will take care of the live ones. Not the eggs. I cannot remember why I could not use posion at the time but it was a temp quick fix and it worked.

Tried all the sprays and powders before and they would knock them back but they still came back.
Comforts is the only drug on the market with a residual that works this way, they do have one called Trifexus that also prevents heart worms and ticks....

Ps you can ONLY get Comfortis through a vet right now, if its online DON'T BUY IT it isn't real... VET ONLY

If you just want to nuke the fleas ON the animal you can give them Capstar but there is no residual, it lasts 24 hours and then is gone. Capstar is available at the feed store.

I think the one we used was advantage. Don't know about residual but it worked! and we've been using trifexus on our outside dog.

treat the house, the pets and the yard.

I wouldn't recommend using it on the pets, but for the house Borax really does kill the fleas.

The pan with water, soap and a light works. Used this in a house that was bad after a couple days very few fleas, but it takes awhile before complete riddance. I was to broke to keep putting out flea bombs that reduced not eliminated problem.

Bomb the house, put sticky traps, dip the cat should do it for you

We've had good luck with bombing. A little tannerite with a high calibered rifle and you should be good.

DE inside and out. Spread it in your carpet, spread it in your lawn

This was last year but when I started this thread but I vacuumed the carpet, sprayed Viper Insecticide along with a Viper IG Regulator. Sprayed the carpet, hardwood floors and linoleum. Repeated in 7 days and the fleas were gone! Also sprayed it on my carport, patio, front porch and the grass where my dogs normally hang out.

About 15 years ago, I had this same issue. We didn't have carpet, but original 3/4" T&G hardwood from a pier and beam house. The fleas got in and nestled in the cracks and crevices. You go into one room with white socks, and you came out with black ones. They were bad! We tried foggers in each room (pretty sure I'm going to get cancer because of those things), sprays in the house, permethrin baths for the dog and nothing touched them. Finally, I sprayed the yard with Viper, I think, in a hose attached sprayer and put sulfur dust along the foundation and under the house. They were gone. No retreatments or any other issues. I thought we'd never get rid of them.

get all your animals on flea prevention and watch the fleas disappear. you said the dogs get the pill, what about the cat? the dogs bring the fleas in and they feed off the cat and breed.

Several of the products you mentioned are good products. I would stick w the Demon though. What your missing is an IGR. Insect Growth Regulator. There are several out there. We normally use Martin's. Mix the Demon in a 1 Gallon Pump up Sprayer. Mix the Martin's IGR w it. 1Tsp. mixed w the Demon(Mix Well). Have the head of your sprayer on the largest come setting that it will turn to. It will make the droplet smaller, and make the application more even. As you are applying the application, swing your arms from side to side until the whole floor has been covered. As other people has stated, the Percore 2000 is a good product as well. We will apply that product over the area that we just sprayed. It has an IGR in it as well. Something you might want to keep in mind if you happen to have Wood Floors. Make sure it is the type of floor that can get wet. I wouldn't want you to destroy your floor. Also, if your floors are dark, you will want to use another Product instead of the Demon. It will leave a white substance on dark floors.

This is pretty much what we did last year after talking with bowfed2014. Great advice and it worked great.

Oh, and the cat does get the monthly flea pill.
