We hike around different ridges for about an hr1/2. When Zion peaks his head over a cliff edge and quickly spots 2 Bull Tahr. One of which is a definite shooter! Sets up the spotting scope for me to take a look, I ease up n put an eye to it. Wow! Exactly what I was looking for a good mature bull w/colorful mane. Zion sets up tripod off spotting scope for rest quickly to get a shot off before Tahr spot us and bust out. After a bit I finally steady myself to take the shot. The distance is just over 150, but the angle is crazy near 30 degree downward incline. Squeeze. Smack!! Bull takes 2-3 steps uphill n falls directly back! I'm super stoked, my #1 target animal is down!! I'm blown away and get the shakes from excitement, make our descent down towards him. As I finally get my hands on him. I'm completely at a loss for words. Never in my wildest dreams!

Zion and I get to caping out in a hurry as we only have about 45 min of shooting light left. We make short work of it, pack up n head to another glassing point in hopes of getting Justin a shot before dark. Hustle over with the cover of thick clouds billowing thru. We get to point and wait for clouds to clear with minutes ticking away. It clears and we pickup binos, nothing there. Then all of a sudden, there is a huge group of bachelor bulls(11), Zion looks for best bull. Puts Justin on it as I roll camera. Squeezes off, hear no impact. Zion calls a miss. Tahr move left about 30 yds. Relocate them, wait for a shot. Fires off, this time thwack! Bull starts rolling downhill & comes to stop. Yes!! Justin has a bull down!! Load are stuff, head back to camp as its pitch dark and would b dangerous to recover.

Make it back to camp and have a well earned dinner of noodle soup & the Best Grilled Cheese Sandwich ever! Lol. Off to bed, hard to sleep for obvious reasons..In the morning after breaking camp and a bowl of cereal we set out to recover Justin's tahr. Having rained most of the night, the grass has become pretty slick and makes it tough getting downhill. We finally make it down after an hr.

After some pics we start hiking down to a big rock where helicopter will pick us up. Almost all the way down when Zion says "uh oh".. Remember Justin missing first shot?? Not exactly.

          2 Bull Tahr down!!

Awesome! Those are beautiful Tahr, love the color of them. My buddy went and his is a lot more brown in color and a little lighter than yours. I really like the coloring of your Tahr, congratulations!
