    Polaris Ranger Rant..

Did not think I would ever be this disappointed with them. Bought the 900XP last year and had to have the belt replaced 2-3 months ago and they said that it was probably due to me driving it at low RPM in high gear which I did a few times but the machine only had about 20 hrs. or so at the time. Anyway, since that $350 repair, I have made sure to operate at low speed in low gear only and now the belt appears to be out again and the machine only has 40 hrs. Called the dealer to explain and schedule a time to have it looked at. Service department told me that the belts do not last long? It is freaking ridiculous to think about the expectation of spending $300-$400 every 20 hrs. to replace the belt!

Major drive-train issue it sounds to me, I have had mine 2 years same belt. But if you may have got water in the belt housing, There is a red drain plug on housing....pull it if water comes out....check this out

This is only problem I have had with mine^^^^^...its a poor design none the less but mine is fixed with snorkel.

100 hours on my 2015. No belt issues at all.

Sounds to me like it is more of a dealer issue..

I would ask them to take a look at the clutch. 200+ hours on mine with lift and larger tires and original belt.

Had one for a couple years. Lots of driving. Same belt. Something fishy here.

Yeah...belts last much longer than what you have going on!

Answer is Honda Shaft Drive. Sorry to hear about your experience.

I have a 2011 800 XP and have never had to change the belt. The fuel pump, yes, and issues with overheating, but never the belt....

Belts will go out if you start out slow and drive slow in high gear. Don't even load in on your trailer in high.

That being said something doesn't sound right on yours. By the way they are easy to change yourself.

The best aftermarket clutch I've seen is made by Dirty Dawg. Great clutch and a great guy who owns the company. That's what all my friends and I run.

Man that bites. Sounds like something is off with yours.

My 2009 is at ~3500+ miles and still on the factory belt with no hints of needing a new one yet.

When it does I will replace it myself (as I have done on several CVT tranny 4whlrs).

Are you running huge tires or creeping off the line when getting going?

If you get too fed up with belt drive buggies, Honda and Kubota are the only two other options that I'm aware of.

Yep sounds like a dealer problem. Belts pretty easy to change. No way I pay 400 to change it

I'm on my org belt. Low for slow and loaded. High for highway

This sounds like every new ATV service place I've been to. Belt worn out every 20 hours, yep that sucks, $400 please.
