    Clutch problem.

Either they are out of alignment,
or there are bushings that the clutches ride on, the clutches will wobble and wear the belt. (doubtful though only 20 hrs)

Heck belts are only $60-$70 bucks. I'll change it for $275.

I don't believe its a dealer issue. My neighbor just bought a 15' 900 XP and I was over there checking it out. He told me the dealer told him to not run it in Hi because it will wear out the belt and it was a 400 repair cost. He said he complained right then and there and hadnt even loaded it on the trailer yet. The mechanic told him this on the way out.

Polaris Rangers are made for mom and pop to putt around in on the ranch road only. Do not work them they will brake. I wish I never got talked into going that route, never again. It's all advertising not performance with Polaris. And yes I have 5 POS that we turn wrenches on every day, to get home.

            Generic, undescriptive bashing.

I've put 1,000 miles on our '14 900XP and 25 of those miles may have been putting around the neighborhood. 600 miles in Colorado on rocky, dusty roads. Plowing through mud in Brazoria county and not one single problem.

If y'all are going to throw out blanket "Its a POS" statements, at least back it up with some description on what went wrong so we can know what to look for if ours break down.

Anyway, since that $350 repair, I have made sure to operate at low speed in low gear only and now the belt appears to be out again and the machine only has 40 hrs. Called the dealer to explain and schedule a time to have it looked at. Service department told me that the belts do not last long? It is freaking ridiculous to think about the expectation of spending $300-$400 every 20 hrs. to replace the belt!
Wow thats ridiculous. I know these arent the same brand but I run my can am in High gear a lot and the belt is sitting at 1400 miles right now.

I would hate to see what your working hard means. My crew and several others gets worked hard at the lease and has no issues.

You've got some really bad luck. Or someone is abusing those machines. Never heard of anything like that. Can you tell us what your wrenching on? I'd bet it can be explained.

That's true to a certain extent. You can run in high most places at any speed really. The only time we use L in ours is going up a steep grade at slow speed or hauling trailers. They're super easy to change yourself and you can even buy an upgraded belt for cheaper than what Polaris charges and never worry about replacing it again.

This, you can buy a Gates brand belt for around $60

                          PM Sent JP

Guys it is a poor vent design, they went to a new Vent Cover like a Frog Skinz or something

Snorkel it and be done, I do not take my bike in water but even in rain you will get water in vents and fill the belt housing.

I couldn't agree more. I cannot understand why Polaris can't figure out how to design a proper air delivery system.

After I tore mine apart....I saw numerous better ways to fix the factory problem...but I was all in in snorkel. I even built some aluminum plates that cover up where the vents were....siliconed in and sprayed with bedliner to match plastic....I NO LONGER HAVE the vents nor the issue
