That's not a "Polaris Problem", that's a dealer making a buck and taking the easy answer over finding the real problem.

This is only problem I have had with mine^^^^^...its a poor design none the less but mine is fixed with snorkel.

Might have to retract my rant.
Thank you so much for this post blntrey! I opened that drain plug and water came pouring out. Pulled the belt cover off to let it dry out and hopefully that fixes it.

If you are taking it to central Texas I would have a talk with the general manager.

I can change a belt in about 15 mins.

              And belts are $50 max.

              U got robbed.

We've got a 05 500 with 1400hrs it's had 2 belts and these models where much harder on belts since their geared different than the newer models. Have a 2010 500 with 300 hrs same belt no sign of wear. And a 07 800 with I think 900 hrs with same belt no signs of wear either.

Used to have another 05 with 1200 hrs I think and it was on it 2nd belt when sold.

Just saying all this to say they don't wear out that fast.

The first 05 500 I listed has anywhere from 1-2 guys and 200-700ibs in the bed at all times

I burned the belt up on my 800 Crew trying to push a dead tree over lol. Bought a belt for $70 bucks, watched the video below and changed it in about 30 minutes. Never had another problem except for being sure to drain water if it gets in the cover.

Videos on there on how to change out a clutch and a lot of other things that will save you a lot of money and frustration.

Run a bead of silicone around the edge of the belt box cover before you reinstall it.

Mine is a 2008, and still has the original belt. It does slip a bit now, but I'm thinking 7yrs is a pretty good life for a belt.

I hope you get your problem resolved!

1500 miles on second belt. 1st one is now a spare and I rarely drive in low.

As for 350 to change one, I'll come change it for free, you buy the beer.

2009 with the same belt. Where are you located and why are you taking it to the dealer? Please tell me it's not Gene's Polaris! Worst service department in the history of service departments.

Had mince since 2008 and still on same belt. I can count on one hand how many times I have driven it in low gear. Something is not right with yours.
