Driving six hours in Mexico is reason to run scared.

            More of a personal choice.

I'd be all over that. If anything crazy happens you'll have a great story to tell.

Sounds like a great opportunity. In your shoes I think I would go. If u r looking for help from guys here to make u feel 100 % comfortable. Won't happen. Certain places in Mexico are still very dangerous. Ciudad Juarez where u would b crossing is considered the most dangerous city in the world. I'd use my best judgement. Crossing that part in daylight for sure.

If nobody ever took a chance then where would we be ? In todays world we all take chances every day some way or another, unless you live in a cave. If your friend feels good about the trip then I would go.

You couldn't pay a me a million dollars to go over there in that area of Mexico.

Got a buddy that goes mule deer hunting there every year with his dad. I've hunted down the river a bit for 30 yrs. Hope to get back in next couple weeks. After the rain with warmer temps the wild flowers should be amazing.

Do what you are comfortable with!

Have you ever hunted this specific area he is talking about? This is not Hermosillo. Little over hundred miles from EP, which means crossing into Juarez.

Wouldn't catch me in Juarez. I just got back from vacation in Mex. Some people flew out of Juarez, I flew to dallas then south. They had no issues, but been 15 years since I have been in Juarez, and probably will not go back.

And OP, pretty positive this area does not produce the giant deer. Too far north.

Good luck in decision, and be careful if ya go.
