Been hunting with a bow since 1986 ( best i can remember) and never missed a solid double lung inside 20 yds and no bow i have ever shot would be considered fast.

It a hunter is hitting high, or missing high with a modern bow over 200 fps they are doing so because the hunter is either flintching, or simply aiming to high or shooting at a deer to far away.

I shoot all my deer these days inside 15 yds..... Most likely inside 10 yds. No deer on the planet it going to duck that

Well seeing as even the fastest compound is 3x slower than the speed of sound, they will always react to the sound of a bow going off.

When I first started bow hunting was told over and over about aiming low and letting the deer duck in the arrow. I aimed at the bottom of a does chest and she never moved. The arrow shaved the hair off her chest. No blood or meat on the arrow or broadhead, just hair on the ground.

Now I just aim for the exit hole and have only had one move much. Had a doe in Sonora about 18 yards away duck and start to spin around. Arrow entered her underside and came up to break her neck. She dropped and was dead in her tracks. Luckily the arrow hit dirt and didn't fully exit so I was able to tell what happened.

And that sure is a broad brush your painting with saying its the hunter when you really have no clue to what happened or the situation. I aim for the heart pretty much every time and have had some drop where i hit them double lung and one was even spined. Have video of every one of them and you can watch the drop well before the arrow hits them.
I paint with the brush of experiance, 28 years and on average 2 deer a year experience. You miss or have a questionable shot on a deer inside 20 yds its your fault not some ninja deer skills. I realize its much easier for us humans to blame our mishaps on something other than ourselves. Deer react to all sounds, a bow is no different. but with 28 years experiance i can tell you that your bad shots can only be blamed on you. I have had several, of course i tried to make excuses bcause there is no way i made a bad shot.....wrong.

I guess going back and watching a video in slow motion of the deer dropping well before the arrow gets there mean nothing huh? If I make a bad shot I can will and have owned up to it. But when I tape my hunts and go back and watch the deer drop before the arrow hits them it is pretty easy to see that the deer dropped. Im not sure why that is so hard for you to believe /understand but apparently it is. I am not the only one to say that deer can and do drop even inside 20 yards. All of my shots are on my hand corn that is spread from 12-20 yards. Now we may not all have as much experience as a pro such as yourself but I have bow hunted a long time and have shot plenty of animals pigs deer axis and mule deer. Not sure why its so hard for you to admit that deer can and do drop even if you are shooting 20 yards and under. Go you tube it Im sure theres plenty of examples there. And how could you ever know what a wild animal is going to do/react every time you shoot at them.

I screw on the grizztricks, and deer are gone before they get there. I finally went down range and hid behind a wall. Had my dad shoot both past me. That slicktrick made very little noise. Grizztrick sounded like a fighter jet screaming in on me. I have decided that because no arrow breaks the sound barrier, they aren't ducking the "string", but instead ducking the sound of some of those missles we send their way. Anybody else notice that some broadheads make a lot less noise going down range? Bet the same is true of certain fletching materials but haven't studied that.
I made a video with my phone and set my phone on the target. You can hear the arrow buzzing at the target, sounds like a big bee buzzing right at your head. I have ZERO doubt that at least some of the time they are ducking the arrow, not the sound of the string but the only way to know is to ask the deer.....

To the ignorant that say when a shot goes over a deer's back and you have VIDEO PROOF of it ducking an arrow, and call it a "bad shot" by the hunter, well....that's asinine. I guess the arrow sailing right over the deer's back as their bellies touch the ground was just a bad shot by the shooter, that's all.

Please dont be a gutless little girl. When you want to call me ignorant just go ahead and do it.... Dont beat around the bush, i can take it.
But, it takes an adult to admit when they messed up and made a bad shot.
It only takes a child mentality to blame it on something contrary to reality.
