and you stated (not implied) that someone cannot have fun hunting if they have rules.

you do it your way and others will do it their way - makes neither one right or wrong -

No arrogance here and I don't care at all if I "turn you away". Your lease's way of doing things would turn me away; and that's ok. Relying on the "common sense" of lease members most always results in young bucks getting killed routinely. And again, that's fine for you, but not for me.

Like I said, to each their own.

Not to mention 1.5yo does are the staple of good venison. Plenty of meat but still tender. Sounds like a deal breaker.

Been on this lease since 2007 with no issues from members. We have managed it for that long and have been successful using “Common Sense”. When that is expressed, usually people adhere to it.
As far as turning away, I was talking about new/younger members. Doesnt it make sense to teach instead of stifling with a bunch of rules? Just food for thought.
Any way, I guess we agree to disagree.

            "Consequence's" on a deer leases.

Always rules breakers, always accident's and always those to whom the rules do not apply. It doesn't change. Always someone who gets their "Error" "overlooked" and always someone who get's hammered.

Good luck with your new lease.

it was meant to be funny and also a reminder. I consider the people on my lease as my friends. I don't want to kick them off for a mistake.

as long as it's not malevolent, just address it and move on.

I screwed up a few weeks ago and shot a nubbin. I looked thru bono rested on a window seal and it wasn’t even much out of now range. 50 yards. When someone screws up they feel horrible about it. Lots of different situations mistakes will be made. Heck I’m looking at spotting scopes now as well as going to get eyes looked at. I have put it off for years and have no issues seeing out 75-200 yards even watching mullet jump or bait move. But 5 yards I’m struggling

So this is the perfect example of an "honest mistake" - it happens if you hunt long enough.

I have used a spotting scope for many years just for this reason -

I did the same as a guest on a doe hunt when I was in early 20s. It was one of my Coast Guard buddies dads place in Nixon…outside of Luling. I was terrified to go back to camp that night after I’d tracked that nubbin for half a mile then finally found it.

My buddy’s dad just grinned and said, it happens sometimes son. I respected his comment and demeanor, and haven’t let that happen again.

We have a very short one page set of rules, we hunt in a high deer density place and shoot upper age deer. No crazy rules. Guests have to hunt in stand with you, no hunting separate. No riding around during hunting hours.

Thing about rules is, without the right members they won’t make much difference.

Make em buy and fill up everybody’s feeder with deer corn one time. At $12 a bag, that would make me think twice about being more careful. Lol
