Ariats have been great for me.

I will never own another Ariat anything ever again. Last pair I had lasted 4 months before the soles fell off.

I'd rather waste my money somewhere else than Ariat.

I've got Double Hs now and like them a lot.

I've had red wings in the past that really held up, but we're hot and heavy.

I've had Justin and Arians that were great to rope in, but didn't last.

Twisted X were ok, but bulky.

Double H looked good, but we're also bulky and never broke in. Heavy!

My most comfortable has always been a Redwing lace up.
            (Besides Reefs, of course.)

I bought a pair of Red Wings for the oilfield and they didn't take long to break in and held up good while I was out there.

I will never buy another pair of red wings-I am still boycotting them for ceasing production of their rough outs! :-)

I have always been hard on boots. Most didn't last 6 months so I would buy whatever the most reasonably priced boot was that I could find in a 14. I then went to the Red Wing store after owning a pair when I was younger and absolutely hating them and saying I wouldn't have another, to that's just about all I buy. Boots will last me 1-2 years now, and very comfortable for oilfield work in my opinion.

I have been using the ariat H2o terrain pull on boot. water proof, the sole is soft enough [ 2 days a week I am walking on concrete and asphalt for 8 hours.]. the boot is light weight. I have a pair of the lace-up terrain shoes both soles are same....cost was $150.00 range for pull on boots.....I wear the Good Feet slip in arch support in these boots for my plantar faciastis......Andy

When I worked at mining and construction locations I wore the same version in lace up 2406.

Redwing will have a sale of 20% off anything in the store Black Friday AM.

                        Good luck.
In the last 12 years (oil rigs) I've worn just about all of them. Drilled wells from the Mexico boarder to the Canadian boarder, into Sahklin Island in Chayvo Russia, and the Gulf of Mexico. For 100% comfort, Justin's. When I was building steel buildings that's all I'd wear. A brand new pair lasted 1 7 day hitch on a drilling rig... I bought the same boots ladrones posted and they've been the best mix of any I've had.

They have a long break in period but absolutely worth it. They'd do just fine up until about -10*. Once it got that cold I'd switch to Baffin Pack Boots. My current employer pays for our boots. I went to their store in Midland and they didn't offer Redwings. I tried on every pair they had in my size. Ended up going with a pair of Wolverine's that a x roughneck/ x driller recommended... Garbage. That was Aug and they're already needing to be replaced. My boots don't get a lot of use either

Nope that's why I go for comfort in my Double H. No longer worried about the soles on a rig floor.

I promise no boot in the world woulda lasted me over 2yrs doin that much less 20. Heck had the steel toe exposed on some and soles ripped up in months.

After 3yrs with my Double H I do need new insoles now

No doubt. I never got over a year out of Redwings even when I was pushing tools.

I bought a pair of ariats about 6 months ago...they have to be the poorest quality boots I have owned in a long time. I'll never buy another pair
Ariat needs to stick to riding boots. Besides, if Paris Hilton and Bloomberg's daughter wear their boots... they probably aren't made for real work.
