running 70ish, it will easily get 17mpg.

Mine is a 4x4 with the max tow package and I'm at real similar numbers.

If you want to get advertised MPG get a 2 wheel drive with higher gears than a 4x4 and keep your foot out of it.

        I have a 2012 4x4 with Eco and my son has a 2012 2wd with 5.0 he gets a little better than I do around 18-19 mpg. I get around 17 mpg.
The biggest reason I don't get better is I can't keep my foot out of it, it makes passing and merging onto a freeway fun.

I had a 13 5.0 with 3.55 rear end. It got 15.7 over its life towing and driving included. normal every day driving it got around 16.5 to 17. On trips I could get 19 under 70 and 18 at 75

I lol at everyone talking like the egoboost has a rocket attached to it or something. When you hit the gas it's just sooooo much faster than anything on the road. You guys must've been driving Jeeps with 4 cylinders in them or something. If I wanted a turbo I'd get one, aftermarket on a V8. There' no replacement for displacement.

Go drive a Silverado with the 6.2 in it. Yes, it's faster and you'll get better gas mileage too. Also, all motor.

2014 ecoboost, 4x4, locking diff. 5,000 miles on it.
16 in the city if I keep my foot out of it.
20 on the highway with no head wind.

I'm not disappointed in the mileage because every forum out here talks about the fact that they do not typically get advertised mileage. I knew it going into the deal. I just love the power, and the cavernous back seat for me son and his friends.

What i don't love about the ecoboost is all of the quirky stuff about the engine... I keep having to determine if things are a problem or just "normal".

Black soot in the tail pipe. Normal.

Occasional "moaning" sound on cold or humid mornings. Normal, supposedly.

Cranky start up/idling on colder mornings. Once it's warm it's fine. Normal.

"Ecoboost shudder" - this one almost killed me merging onto a highway just after a rain where everyone was going 80 mph. Just google it. If this would have happened to me on a test drive I would have never bought this truck. Dealer says my truck has all of the fixes so that shudder shouldn't be happening. They can't create the problem and it didn't throw a code... I'm on my own.

Was this an Ecoboost or the 5.0?

2013, Eco, 40k miles, average of 40k miles 15.1, IF I HAD KNOWN that this was going to be the average mileage I would have went with the 6.2 and had a real motor and about the same mileage.....

I work at a ford dealer , I can tell you for sure all mpg claims made by any company are the best they can make it get , and customer's don't realize if they sit in traffic not moving they are getting negative gas mileage , and if your on the gas all the time your never gonna get any kind of mileage
