So do y'all sit in a restaurant facing the door?

I've been like that my whole life. The ultimate seat is somewhere you can watch the door and see out the windows. If for some God forsaken reason I can't watch the door I turn my chair sideways to look back. I'm not sure if I'm just really protective or paranoid, but it seems to be a healthy habit

I also like to sit facing the door but it wont bother me to much if I cant. I do like to be able to see my vehicle while I'm sitting especially if I'm rode my bike.

not necessarily facing door but where I can see the room.

My wife will not let me sit with my back to the door, that is the way she was raised. He mom is the same way, anytime we go out to dinner she tries to make sure every guy at the table does not have their back to the door.

Yup, facing the door, on the edges of the room not the center, and preferrably close to the emergency exit/back door. I also don't sit down at bars, I prefer to be on my feet already if something stupid happens, and I'm particular about hotel rooms, too.

it is not paranoid, it is smart.

I never expect anything to happen but I try my best to be prepared if it does.

I don't necessarily have to see the front door (difficult in some restaurants), but I do need to see the closest entryway from the front door to where I'm sitting. I don't want to be snuck-upon.

                      jk. Situational awareness.
                      I didn't ask anything

Ps: I'm always ready. I usually think it's the cook that's gonna lose it. I keep him pegged. I eat with my gun in hand covered w a napkin and a spare mag under my hat. I tell my wife to not talk to me because I'm scanning and sizing up my potential targets and trying not to drip cheese dip on my new wolf t shirt.
