I have gotten so used to it with my GF. It doesn't matter if its a quick trip to town or anything she can fall asleep in a heartbeat. I just keep driving. But then again I spend a lot of time in the truck. If it was me in the passenger seat I would stay awake. If your with a group, the guys in the back seat are cleared to sleep in my book. Its just nice to have someone to talk to.

If you sharing driver responsibilities then yes. You have earned the right to sleep. If you are not and it is under a 10 hour trip you better stay away!

If driver says he is good to go for a while, then yes catnap. But definitely not allowed to sleep the entire time

Going south on I35 a few years ago around Temple area I believe they had the bill boards with the comic book BAM and stuff like that. 2 of the guys riding with me were snoozing so I got the bright idea that everytime I passed one of the bill boards I would holler at the top of my lungs whatever the sign had on it. They decided to just stay awake after the second one.

I generally drive cause other people tend to worry me when they drive. My wife sleeps all the time. Doesn't really bother me, but on long trips if we are taking turns then yes, perfectly normal for one to sleep while the other drives, otherwise you end up with two tired drivers and you might as well stop and get a room for the night. Plus, when my wife is asleep I get to listen to whatever music I want . If she's awake she hijacks the radio

I have no problem if the passengers sleep. I tell them to get some rest if possible. Used to driving and if I get tired I just stop for a bit.
